President – Cassandra Madisson is the VP of Partnership at The Tech Talent Project, a non-profit organization that increases the ability of the U.S. Government to recruit technical leaders. Cass says she is excited to be a part of the team because, “VFFS is a magical place that nurtures curiosity, lights the spark of creativity, and teaches kids what it means to be good stewards of the land and their community. I’m excited to help the school build a vision for the future and to deepen commitment to diversity and accessibility”

Secretary – David Huck,  David grew up in the Bay Area before moving to Vermont. He is passionate believer in learning, systems and fermentation (literally and figuratively). David worked with wood-fired pizza, Wood Belly Pizza and currently works with a building company.  In his spare time, he works on his own house and learning about the world with his children.

Treasurer – Bill Cavanaugh, is a farm business advisor at The Northeast Organic Farming Association where he supports farmers through Farm Viability Program developing sustainable business plans. Bill is a master butcher and value added food consultant. Bill lives with his family in Granville. 

Chair – Lisa Frost, is the co-founder of VFFS and outdoor educator. Lisa has a variety of experiences in teaching in independent schools, now teaching at Mountain Village Charter School. Lisa has served on the Roxbury-Montpelier public school board. Lisa has M.ED. from Antioch University and lives in Plymouth, NH.

Chair – Hazel Adams-Shungo, hales from the Bronx, NY and recently landed with her daughter in Vermont. They are both beginning farmers and entrepreneurs of Flying Buffalo Farm, whom are thrilled to cultivate and steward the land. Hazel has a life time experience of working with students with specials needs and served as New York City’s Department of Public Schools Regional Parent Engagement Officer.  Hazel is also the owner of Advocate of Choice, a consultancy firm that supports parents in navigating the public school system to best serve children.
