Together we will craft a full-size traditional broom. This beautiful and timeless tool is perfect for the home and hearth. We will use basic woodworking skills and tools and will weave sorghum, also called broom corn. This class is an intermediate-level class but first-time makers are welcome! $85 per person and all materials are included. To sign up, email misse@vermontfarmandforestschool.org class is limited to 8.

Coming from the mountains of southern Appalachia, Hannah has been immersed in the natural world since a young child. An abiding love for the wild is the foundation for her creative process. Hannah attended the John C. Campbell Folk School receiving a certificate in woodworking to make wooden toys. She learned broom-making 13 years ago in the highlands of West Virginia and has been teaching broom-making for the last 12 years. She lives with her partner and two children in central Vermont.
